Down to a single key in the San Fernando Valley? We cut accurate spares on site — house, office, and many car keys — including some restricted and high-security blanks with the right authorization, so a lost key never becomes a lockout.

Most house and office keys copy easily. Restricted and high-security keys exist specifically to resist casual copying, so those need the right blank and, often, proof you are authorized to duplicate them — which is the point of restricting them.

A good duplicate is cut precisely, not approximately. A sloppy copy is the key that jams or snaps later, so accuracy at the cutting stage is what makes a spare you can actually rely on.

How key cutting is done

A the San Fernando Valley key-cutting visit runs:

  • We confirm you own or are authorized for the key and property.
  • We select the correct blank — standard, restricted, or high-security as needed.
  • We cut and deburr the copy and test it in the lock for smooth operation.
  • You get accurate spares, with the total agreed in writing first.
  • For a worn original, we can cut to the lock itself so the copy is crisp, not a copy of a copy.
  • We check the restricted-key authorization before duplicating any key marked do-not-copy.

When you need this

  • You are down to a single key and want spares.
  • A new household member or employee needs their own key.
  • A worn key needs a fresh, crisp copy before it fails.
  • You want car-key spares cut before the last one is lost.

Honest limits

We will not copy a restricted or do-not-duplicate key without authorization. That control exists for a reason, and a few patented keyways can only be cut by their dealer — we tell you when yours is one.

What affects what you pay

We do not post a flat price here because the real number depends on the hardware, the situation, and the time of day. You get a clear quote before any work starts, and the total in writing before we begin.

The main cost factors are the hardware involved, how the job has to be done, the time of day, and whether parts need ordering in. We walk through those with you on the call so the written quote holds no surprises.

How we keep it honest

Before we open a door, start a car or make a key, we confirm you have the right to be there — photo ID plus proof of residence, ownership, or authorization. It protects you as much as it protects us.

We tell you a realistic arrival window on the call. Traffic across the Valley varies, so we would rather give you a straight answer than a promise we cannot keep.

Questions people ask

Can you duplicate keys at my home or office?

Yes. The van cuts most house, office, and many car keys on site in the San Fernando Valley, so you do not need to find a shop.

Can you copy a key marked 'do not duplicate'?

Only with proper authorization. Restricted and patented keys are limited on purpose, and we honor that key control rather than copy a key we should not.

Why does my copied key stick?

Usually an inaccurate cut or a worn original. We cut precisely and test in the lock, and if the original is worn we can cut to the lock itself for a cleaner key.

Can you cut high-security keys?

Many of them, yes, with the correct blank and authorization. A few keyways can only be duplicated by their dealer, and we will tell you if yours is one.

Do you duplicate car keys?

We cut many car keys and can program transponders and fobs where the make allows. See car key replacement and key fob programming for the electronic side.
